| Cultivar epithet: 'Barbados Flat Species/hybrid: Heliconia caribaea Description: Erect inflorescence; 8 to 10 distichous bracts, red with yellow proximal lip, changing to clear lip and green at tip, basal bract mostly green, bracts laterally flattened; rachis red with white at basal bracts; sepals white basally to green distally with dark green stripe; ovary and pedicel white. Vegetation musoid, with white waxy coating on shoot, petiole, lower leaf surface and lower bracts of inflorescence. Height 3.6 to 5.5 m (12 to 18 feet).
