Cultivar epithet:  'Maya Blood'

Species/hybrid:  Heliconia champneianana

Description:  Erect inflorescence, 6 to 15 distichous bracts, dark to light red, often with orange on proximal cheek, basal bract often green.  Rachis red to reddish-orange, sepals orange distally, changing to yellowish-white proximally, ovary and pedicel white.  Vegetation musoid, lower surface often with red or maroon midrib.  Height 7 to 13 feet.
