Cultivar epithet:  'Bright Red'

Species/hybrid:  Heliconia pendula

Description:  Pendent inflorescence; 4 to 9 distichous to spiral bracts, bright red; rachis red; sepals white; ovary and pedicel pale yellow. Vegetation musoid, maroon on young stems, no white waxy coating. Height 1.5 to 2.7 m (5 to 9 feet).
