Cultivar epithet:  'Cheri R'

Species/hybrid:  Heliconia acuminata

Description:  Erect inflorescence; 4 to 6 distichous bracts, bright orange to red-orange; rachis bright orange to red-orange; sepals yellow-orange, some with very faint dark green distal band; ovary dark orange; pedicel light orange. Vegetation musoid. Height 0.8 to 1.1 m (2.5 to 3.5 feet).
