Cultivar epithet: �'Distans'

Species/hybrid: �Heliconia latispatha

Description: �Erect inflorescence, 3 to 7 spiral bracts, red distally with yellow or gold proximally, basal bract with green keel and usually with a leaflet, second and third bracts often with green keel and tip, rachis usually yellow, may have gold or green tint, sepals pale yellow-green with dark green stripe along distal margin and at base, ovary light green distally and pale yellow below, pedicel pale yellow.� Vegetation musoid.� Height 1.5 to 5.5 feet.
