Cultivar epithet:  'Grand Etang'

Species/hybrid:  Heliconia bihai x caribaea

Description:  Erect inflorescence; 9 to 14 distichous bracts, dark
red to maroon, thin clear distal lip, small green tip, basal bract mostly green, pale green keel on second and third bracts. Rachis red; sepals light green on distal third and white proximally; ovary and pedicel white. Vegetation musoid, some shoots with white waxy coating, extending onto petiole and lower midrib. Height
2.7 to 4.6 m (9 to 15 feet).
