Cultivar epithet:  'José Abalo'

Species/hybrid:  Heliconia imbricata x latispatha

Description:  Erect inflorescence; 15 to 17 spiral bracts, gold with orange tint on lip and towards tips of upper bracts, a pale pink flush on cheek base; rachis yellow with green tint; sepals pale olive green; ovary light green on top and cream below; pedicel yellow-green. Vegetation musoid, lower leaf surface sometimes
with light red near petiole. Height 1.8 to 5.5 m (6 to 18 feet).
