| Cultivar epithet: 'Mildred' Species/hybrid: Heliconia mathiasiae Description: Erect inflorescence; 3 to 9 distichous bracts, red, some with orange tint near base, basal bracts usually with green keel, tip, and leaflet; rachis red; sepals yellow, often with red near ovary; ovary dark red to crimson on top and distal half, shading to lighter red below; pedicel red to pink.
