Cultivar epithet:  'Pacal'

Species/hybrid:  Heliconia mathiasiae

Description:  Erect inflorescence; 5 to 6 distichous bracts, dark red to red-orange, basal bract usually with distal green keel and leaflet; rachis red; sepals yellow with light to dark green on distal third; ovary light to dark green distally and yellow below; pedicel yellow, some with pink tint. Vegetation zingiberoid. Height 0.9 to 4.2 m (3 to 14 feet).
