Cultivar epithet: 'Red-yellow Gyro' Species/hybrid: Heliconia latispatha Description: Erect inflorescence; 6 to 18 spiral bracts, red with yellow or gold at base, basal bract with green keel and usually leaflet; rachis yellow with some green tint, sometimes golden; sepals pale yellow-green, usually with dark green stripe along margins; ovary green distally and pale yellow proximally; pedicel pale yellow. Vegetation musoid, usually with very thin maroon margin along leaves, rarely with maroon lower midrib. Height 1.5 to 5.5 m (5 to 18 feet). Nominant: F. Berry and J. Kress (1991)
