Cultivar epithet: 'Sexy Scarlet' Species/hybrid: Heliconia chartacea Description: Pendent inflorescence; 4 to 13 spiral bracts, scarlet along base and most of cheek, pale to dark green along lip and on tip, basal bract mostly green; rachis scarlet; sepals dark green distally to light green proximally, often clear at base; ovary and pedicel cream. Vegetation musoid; white waxy coating on stems, leaves, and often on bracts; most older leaf blades lacerating into narrow lateral segments. Height 1.5 to 4.2 m (5 to 14 feet). Nominant: C.
